In this part, we focus on Agnes as Bea decides to leave behind her family to deal with her mother’s death. Agnes proves herself to be a competent leader, though, as she expertly leads the group through the wilderness. However, the group is thrown for a loop when a new group of people are introduced and they are expected to blend into The Community. It’s interesting to watch as there are new personalities (even though we don’t really know the personalities in the first group besides those who make themselves known). It appears that Agnes has a crush on a new boy, Jake. And she starts her period in this part. It ends by Bea returning to The Community to no approval. This will be interesting since Glen is getting very sick and Carl is taking a tyrannical lead over The Community.
Things I Liked:
- Agnes’ POV. I liked seeing her deal with the grief of her mother leaving and seeing how she adapted to the role of adulthood. I also think it’s very interesting to see how much she relates to animals since she realizes they dictate a lot of what happens in the woods.
- The new kids
Things I Did Not Like:
- Carl’s obtained power
- Bea coming back (controversially enough). I think that her leaving was a really selfish choice and Agnes’ development was actually really interesting to me.
